A good, reliable product

I've used many fiber products over the years, and this is a good one. Some others clump and make me gag when I drink them (or attempt to) in the morning. This one dissolves into the water quite well, though you need to drink it fast so it won't congeal. There's not really a taste, so I don't bother with juices and trying to make it taste like dessert. Just two fairly level tablespoons into the water, stir and drink. Then have a cup of hot tea, and there you go.

Product works, but you may want to consider alternatives

This product worked for me in the sense that it assisted in establishing regularity. I have had abdominal issues, basically since birth, that no doctor has been able accurately to diagnose. In the last few years, these issues have gotten much worse to the point where I had to determine what was going on. It appears that my primary problem is a wheat/gluten sensitivity. Along with the myriad odd health issues this can create, it can cause damage to the lining of your stomach and bowel, thus impairing the absorption of needed nutrients and the elimination process. Many books on health issues I have read in trying to address my personal problem will tell you that you must restore the functionality of the body's elimination system in order to get better. I can attest firsthand that this is the case.Again, while the fiber worked for me, I found through my reading that a better alternative might be clay. I bought the Terramin product on Amazon and have found it to be extremely helpful. Unlike fiber, clay provides minerals and nutrients to the body and can attract harmful material to it to be removed with the clay through the excretory system. There are several books available on Amazon which explain the makeup, function and use of clay in detail(ie The Clay Cure and Living Clay). The Terramin product has been approved by NASA to address bone loss issues by the astronauts. If it is good enough for the space program, it is probably good enough for me, too. I would look at clay as an alternative to fiber if you are looking for something to induce regularity naturally, as clay provides health benefits you will not obtain with fiber. I also find clay much easier to consume than fiber. I could not find a way to drink the fiber that was not at least somewhat objectionable. To me, however, the clay has very little taste and almost no texture. You can also use the fiber and clay together, but you may want to build up to that if you choose to do so.Also, don't forget good old castor oil. It works for getting things moving in oral dosage, among many other uses it has. See the book The Edgar Cayce Remedies for examples of use of castor oil. Good luck.I have also since had good success with AIM Fiberblend, which is sold on Amazon. While it too contains psyllium, it is only one of many ingredients and is not nearly as difficult to swallow. Read reviews on Fiberblend, and you will see many people complain about the taste. I won't say it tastes good, although is has a peppery finish I have come to enjoy. But, it certainly is not nearly as bad as some make it seem, at least in my opinion. Perhaps I am just willing to drink things fouler than most to benefit my health. I still use the clay too.

this is an easy way to increase fiber in the diet and lower your cholesterol. it has worked for me in both ways and my MD is happy. Metamucil is much more expensive for what you get. the first ingredient is sugar in metamucil or similar house brands.
